Digital Products Policy

Circuit Issues sells digital products (KiCad PCB templates and design files). Due to the nature of digital goods, all sales are generally final once the download link is accessed.

However, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. We offer refunds in specific circumstances as outlined below.

Eligible for Refund

You may be eligible for a full refund if:

  • Technical Issues: The files are corrupted, cannot be opened in KiCad, or are missing critical components and we cannot provide a corrected version within 48 hours.
  • Misrepresentation: The product description was significantly misleading or inaccurate compared to what was delivered.
  • Duplicate Purchase: You accidentally purchased the same template twice.
  • Payment Error: You were charged incorrectly (wrong amount, duplicate charge, etc.).
  • Never Downloaded: You request a refund within 14 days of purchase and have NOT accessed the download link.

NOT Eligible for Refund

Refunds will not be provided if:

  • You changed your mind after downloading the files
  • The template doesn't meet your specific project requirements (please review product descriptions carefully before purchase)
  • You lack the technical knowledge to use KiCad or modify the templates
  • You made an error during PCB manufacturing (we provide design files, not manufacturing services)
  • More than 30 days have passed since purchase

PCB Composer Service Refunds

For the PCB Composer custom design service:

  • Before Design Starts: Full refund if you cancel before we begin work on your project.
  • During Design: Partial refund based on work completed, minus any files already delivered.
  • After Delivery: Refunds only if files are technically defective (see "Eligible for Refund" above).

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Contact us within 30 days of your purchase via:
  2. Include in your request:
    • Order number or email address used for purchase
    • Product name
    • Detailed reason for refund request
    • Screenshots or error messages (if applicable)
  3. Wait for our response: We will review your request within 2 business days and respond with approval, denial, or request for more information.

Refund Processing

If your refund is approved:

  • Refunds are processed through Stripe (our payment processor)
  • You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is initiated
  • It may take 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method

Alternative Solutions

Before requesting a refund, consider these alternatives:

  • Technical Support: Contact us if you're having trouble opening or using the files. We're happy to help troubleshoot KiCad issues.
  • Exchange: If the template isn't what you expected, we may offer a credit toward a different template that better fits your needs.
  • Partial Credit: In some cases, we may offer partial store credit as a compromise.

Fair Use Commitment

We trust our customers and operate on good faith. However, we reserve the right to deny refunds if we detect abuse, such as:

  • Repeated refund requests across multiple purchases
  • Requesting refunds after extensive use of the files
  • Evidence of file sharing or redistribution

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your bank instead of contacting us first:

  • Access to your account and all purchased products will be suspended
  • You may be permanently banned from making future purchases
  • We will dispute the chargeback with evidence of proper delivery
